How your data is used
The check runs in your browser. When you finish, your answers are recorded without your name or email. Your email is used only if you ask for it, and only for what you ask.
Who's responsible
Adapt Labs Ltd is the data controller. I'm Rich Carter, and I run Adapt Labs. For questions or requests, email hello@adaptlabs.co.uk.
When you finish the check
What's recorded: your answers to the fifteen questions (including any “I don't know”), your scores, your answers about you (role, number of teams, rough team size, sector and where you're based), how AI is used in your teams, which area feels most pressing, which offer you'd find more useful and the price band you picked, how long the check took, and where you came from (for example LinkedIn or YouTube, if the link said so).
What isn't: your name, your email address, your IP address, or anything that follows you between visits.
Why: to see how leaders of AI-enabled teams are doing overall, and to improve the check, the videos and what Adapt Labs offers. The legal basis is legitimate interests: it's the kind of use you'd expect, and the record isn't linked to your name or email.
How long: two years, then it's deleted automatically.
If you ask for your results by email
Your email address and your result go to Brevo, the email service, to send that one email. You aren't added to any list, and you won't hear from Adapt Labs again unless you also sign up for updates. Brevo keeps a record of the send, as email services do.
To stop the form being misused, a scrambled code made from your address is kept for two days, only to limit repeat sends. It can't be turned back into your address.
The legal basis is that you asked for the email.
If you sign up for updates
You'll get a confirmation email first, and you're only signed up once you click its link. Then Brevo keeps your email address, when you signed up and the wording you agreed to, with a short summary of your result: your score band, focus area, role, number of teams, your answer about the offers and where you came from. I use this to send updates: new videos and tools, and news of the founding membership when it opens.
The legal basis is your consent. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops the emails straight away. If you'd like your details deleted completely, email me.
Where it's kept
The site and the finished checks are hosted by Cloudflare. Emails and the updates list are handled by Brevo, which is based in France. Both act on my instructions under their data processing terms. Where data is handled outside the UK, those terms include the standard safeguards for international transfers.
Cookies and tracking
None. There are no cookies, no analytics scripts and no advertising pixels. Fonts and images come from this site. The site keeps daily totals of page views and checks started, as plain counts. Cloudflare keeps standard security logs, which include IP addresses and aren't linked to your answers.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to how it's used. Finished checks aren't linked to your name or email, so to find yours I'd need you to tell me which one it was, for example the date and your score. Email hello@adaptlabs.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
